Wong-Orantes Has 14 Kills as U.S. Olympic Volleyball Team Wins

Former Nebraska volleyball star Justine Wong-Orantes had a match-high 14 kills to help the U.S. Women’s volleyball team to its most impressive win at the Olympics. 

The Americans swept Poland in three sets Tuesday, winning 25-22, 25-14, 25-20.  Former Husker Jordan Larson contributed three kills and one block. 

The victory sends the U.S. to the Olympic semifinals for the fifth straight time.  Their opponent in Thursday’s semi’s will be world No. 1 Brazil, which swept the Dominican Republic in the quarterfinals.  It will be a rematch of the gold medal match in 2021.
