Wiegert To Be Honored at Nebraska-Oklahoma Game

When Nebraska hosts Oklahoma in college football on Saturday, it will not only be the latest meeting in a storied rivalry and the start of Mickey Joseph’s tenure as the Huskers’ interim coach.  It will also include a salute to former Nebraska offensive lineman Zach Wiegert, a member of the 2022 College Football Hall of Fame class.

The salute, which is scheduled at the end of the first quarter, is being coordinated by NU, the National Football Foundation and the College Football Hall of Fame.  Wiegert starred at Nebraska from 1991 to 1994.  A unanimous First-Team All-American in 1994, Wiegert received the Outland Trophy after helping the Huskers to a 13-0 national championship season and the NCAA rushing title.

Saturday’s kickoff is at 11 a.m.  The pregame begins at 7 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It will be joined at 10:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.
