Wicked Blizzard Delays Scotus Games, Wipes Out GRC Tilts

Blizzard conditions have affected basketball game broadcasts on Alpha Media radio stations tonight, albeit in different ways.

The Scotus Shamrocks girls and boys games at Boone Central, which had recently been moved up two hours to give the girls contest a 4 p.m. tipoff on KZ-100, were delayed apparently by a weather-related incident involving game officials.  The girls game did get underway around 4:30 p.m.

The Goldenrod Conference girls tourney semifinals that were to have been broadcast from Greeley tonight on 93.5 The Hawk beginning at 6 p.m. were postponed this afternoon when the ground blizzard hit that area according to an event organizer.

The updated GRC brackets list all four semifinals set for Friday, which will be broadcast on 93.5 The Hawk.  The first game will have the Humphrey St. Francis girls at Central Valley starting at 2:30 p.m.  It will be followed at 4 p.m. by the Flyers boys vs. Fullerton.  The 6 p.m. game pits Nebraska Christian’s girls against Burwell, followed by the Riverside boys at Central Valley around 7:30 p.m.
