Wemhoff, Brezenski Earn Prep Club Awards for Scotus

Seniors Blake Wemhoff and Libbie Brezenski won the KLIR Prep Club Awards for Scotus in this year’s voting by Prep Club sponsors.  They’ll each receive a $500 college scholarship and a plaque.

Wemhoff was a three-sport athlete.  In boys tennis, he was a two-year state qualifier. He’s currently in his third season as the soccer team’s starting midfielder and has six goals and five assists.  Wemhoff was called by basketball coach Mike VunCannon “an integral piece of a team that made huge strides” last season.  Wemhoff will attend the University of Nebraska.

Brezenski has earned all-state honors the past two years in girls soccer and leads the team with 19 goals and six assists so far this season.  She helped the Scotus girls basketball team record 50 wins and reach the district finals each of the past three years.  Brezenski was also a three-year letter winner in volleyball.  She signed with the soccer program at the College of St. Mary.
