Weekend Roundup of Columbus Legion Teams’ Games

The Columbus Cornerstone Seniors earned a 7-4 victory over South Sioux City last Friday night at Pawnee Park. 

Columbus left fielder Bentley Willison broke a 4-all tie with a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to give the Seniors the win.  It upped their record to 11-10. 

In Friday’s early game, the OneNebraska Junior Blues routed South Sioux City 15-2 in five innings.  Columbus catcher Dominic Rother was 3-for-3 with four RBI and a run as the Junior Blues improved to 9-7.  Both Columbus clubs will visit Grand Island Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the Columbus Owens Wealth Advisors Junior Reds went 0-2 in a tournament at Creighton on Saturday.  The Junior Reds were blanked by Hartington 8-0 in six innings and fell to Plainview 4-2.  Columbus is 10-4 and will entertain Waverly Tuesday evening.
