Walsh Tosses Gem, Matthews Blasts Tie-Breaking Homer in Win

Will Walsh pitched a gem and Brice Matthews belted a three-run homer to lead Nebraska baseball to a 4-1 home win over North Dakota State last night.
Walsh recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in seven innings. Matthews crushed a 424-foot home run to left field to break a 1-all tie in the bottom of the seventh.
The win was NU’s 400th victory at Haymarket Park, the Huskers’ home ballpark since 2002. Nebraska is 14-8-1 on the season.
