Vikings Volleyball Rallies Late to Win Subdistrict Title

Lakeview’s volleyball team staged an 11th hour rally to defeat Aurora in last night’s C1-7 subdistrict final. 

The Vikings trailed two-sets-to-one and were down 24-19 in the fourth set before the home team scored the final seven points to win 26-24.  Lakeview also scored the final three points of the fifth set to win it 17-15. 

The Vikings had won the first set 25-19, before the Huskies took the next two sets, 25-23 and 25-21.  Ava Tessendorf led Lakeview with 13 kills, while Josie Bentz had 12.  Taylor Helms recorded five of Lakeview’s 12 aces. 

The Vikings improved to 22-9 and advanced to Saturday’s district finals.
