Two City Prep Football Teams Advance in Playoffs

Two of the three city prep football teams stayed alive in the playoffs. While Columbus High finished a 7-3 campaign with a 24-17 loss at North Platte last Friday, Lakeview and Scotus advanced to the C1 quarterfinals.
The Vikings won at Milford 42-20 and will host Boone Central this Friday. Scotus downed Fort Calhoun 35-16 and next will visit Battle Creek in a rematch of a regular season game the Shamrocks won 28-21.
In C2, Aquinas travels to Fremont to face Archbishop Bergan. Friday’s D1 quarterfinals include Howells-Dodge at Dundy County Stratton and Cross County at home against Lourdes Central Catholic. In D2 action Humphrey St. Francis entertains Kenesaw and Osceola plays at Sandhills/Thedford.
