Emma Brezenski scored five goals, Libbie Brezenski added two more, and the Scotus girls soccer team recorded its seventh shutout of the season in an 8-0 home win over Kearney Catholic.
Last night’s victory was the Shamrocks’ eighth straight as they improved to 9-2. The Scotus boys bowed to the Stars 2-0 at Wilderness Park, slipping to 5-3 on the year.
In other prep soccer action Tuesday, the Columbus High girls snapped a three-match losing skid with a 3-0 win at Lincoln North Star. The Discoverers upped their record to 5-3.
In the Central Conference tournament, Lakeview’s boys were downed by Crete 3-0, dropping the Vikings’ record to 1-8. Also in that tourney, the Schuyler boys were edged by Grand Island Northwest 2-1 and the Warriors girls were blanked by Lexington 6-0.
