Alex Ortiz turned a hat trick, scoring three goals to lead the Columbus High boys soccer club to a 6-1 win at Hastings.  Last night’s victory was the Discoverers’ third straight and upped their record to 4-7.  The CHS girls blanked the Tigers 3-0, improving Columbus to 8-4. 

Also on Tuesday, Lakeview split a pair of home matches against Crete.  The Vikings boys lost 4-1, dropping to 2-9.  But, the Lady Vikes posted a 4-0 shutout to move to 7-5. 

Scotus also split at Blair.  The Shamrocks boys won 5-3, upping their record to 5-6.  But, the girls were downed by the Bears 4-1.  That snapped Scotus’ three-match winning streak and dropped the girls’ record to 6-4.
