Tominaga, Japan Top the Philippines in Asia Cup Basketball

Nebraska guard Keisei Tominaga and his native Japan beat the Philippines 102-81 in Asia Cup play last night.

The Huskers junior did not score as he was 0-for-5 from the floor, but did have one assist in 13 minutes off the bench.  In four games for Japan, Tominaga is averaging 10.8 points per game.

After posting its first win over the Philippines since 2003, Japan has reached the Asia Cup quarterfinals for the first time since 2015.  Japan will take on Australia tomorrow morning.  Australia is ranked third in the world and is the defending Asia Cup champion.
