Three Huskers, Two Bluejays, Batenhorst Picked in PVF Draft
Three Nebraska volleyball standouts and two from Creighton were selected in the Pro Volleyball Federation Draft on Monday.
For the Huskers, Merritt Beason was selected No. 1 overall by the Atlanta Vibe, who traded with the Indy Ignite to get Beason. The Vibe are coached by former Husker Kayla Banwarth. Lindsay Krause was selected by the Omaha Supernovas in the third round with the 19th overall pick. Leyla Blackwell went to the San Diego Mojo in the fourth round with pick No. 26.
For the Bluejays, Norah Sis was the third overall selection by the Orlando Valkyries, while Kendra Wait was chosen 37th overall by defending league champion Omaha.
The Supernovas also drafted Ally Batenhorst at No. 15 overall. She has excelled this year at USC after spending her first three college seasons at Nebraska.
