Three Area Volleyball Clubs Join Lakeview in Semifinals Today
Three of four area volleyball clubs earned wins in their opening round matches at the state tournament yesterday and joined Lakeview in today’s semifinals.
In D1, Howells-Dodge swept BDS in three sets, while Nebraska Christian also downed Overton 3-0. The Jaguars will take on the Eagles today at 9 a.m. on 93.5 The Hawk. In D2 action Thursday, Humphrey St. Francis avoided an upset. The Flyers won the last two sets to get past number 7 seed Anselmo-Merna 3-2. Today, St. Francis faces Maywood-Hayes Center at 11 a.m. on KLIR 101. Clarkson-Leigh was upset in C2 action last night. The third-seeded Patriots fell to number 6 seed Sutton 3-2 to end the season at 23-8.
Lakeview, which won its C1 opening round match over Syracuse on Wednesday, battles top-seeded Kearney Catholic this afternoon at 1 o’clock. That match will be broadcast on KLIR.
