Thompson Held Out of Practice, Farmer Suspended

Nebraska quarterback Casey Thompson was held out of practice Tuesday.  Interim head coach Mickey Joseph said if Thompson can’t practice today, “I’m going to have to rule him out”  for Saturday’s game at No. 3 Michigan.

When it comes down to deciding whether Chubba Purdy or Logan Smothers starts, Joseph was asked what goes into the decision he expects to make tomorrow.  “Who is making the throws and who is getting us in the correct run plays,” Joseph said.

Meanwhile, starting safety Myles Farmer has been suspended for the game against the Wolverines.  He was ticketed on suspicion of drunken driving early Sunday morning in downtown Lincoln.  Joseph said yesterday that Farmer made a bad mistake, but also called him a good kid.

Saturday’s kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.  The pregame begins at 10:30 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
