Thomas: Raiola Working More With Main Receivers This Week

Glenn Thomas says the last month for the Huskers new co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach has been “fast and furious.”

But, in his appearance Wednesday on Sports Nightly, Thomas agreed with host Greg Sharpe that Nebraska’s players are ready to play a game.  As NU has been preparing for its season opener Saturday against UTEP, Thomas was asked if quarterback Dylan Raiola has been working more this week with specific receivers who’ll be his main targets.

“Yeah, for the most part we really have, because now you’re really trying to fine-line the timing, the spacing, the trust between receivers and quarterback,” Thomas said.  He also said the Huskers backup quarterbacks have been getting reps and “we feel like each one of those guys in that room are continuing to get better.”

Saturday’s kickoff at Memorial Stadium is set for 2:30 p.m. The pregame starts at 10:30 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
