Husker golfer Miu Takahashi was named the state women’s amateur of the year Tuesday by the Nebraska golf association.
The junior from Japan is the first-ever international winner of the award, which dates back to 1997.
In August, Takahashi won the 49th Nebraska Women’s Amateur Championship at the Fremont Golf Club. Later in the summer, she qualified for the 123rd U.S. Women’s Amateur.
And this fall, Takahashi posted an average score of 74 over 12 rounds for the Nebraska women’s golf team.
