In the prep football playoffs last night, Osceola-High Plains handed Howells-Dodge its first loss of the year in the D1 quarterfinals. 

The Stormdogs, seeded fourth in the East, downed the top-seeded Jaguars 28-14. Howells-Dodge finished with a 10-1 record, while Osceola-High Plains is 9-2 and will host Cross County in next Monday’s D1 semifinals. The seventh-seeded Cougars topped number-11 seed Tri County 36-12 in Stromsburg. Cross County is now 7-4.

Monday’s kickoff in Clarks is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be aired on 93.5 The Hawk.

In D2 action, Humphrey St. Francis rolled to a 64-20 victory at Plainview. The Flyers, seeded number-one in the East, are now 11-0.  They’ll entertain another 11-0 club, third-seeded Falls City Sacred Heart next Monday with a trip to the state championship game on the line.
