State Wrestling: 15 Boys, Three Girls From Columbus in Omaha

A total of 18 wrestlers from the three city schools are in Omaha today to compete in the state tournament. 

Columbus High is represented by 11 wrestlers – 10 boys who are competing today and one girl on the mats when the first-ever girls state tourney begins tomorrow.  The CHS boys contingent includes four grapplers who won district titles last weekend: Brenyn Delano, Blake Cerny, Adrian Bice and Caydn Kucera.  Danica Taylor qualified for girls state as a district runner-up. 

Three Lakeview boys and two Vikings girls will be in action at CHI Health Center.  That group of Vikings includes a boys district champ in Landon Ternus and a girl who won a district gold medal in Lacy Lemburg. 

Two Scotus boys will also be competing at state, as will four Schuyler girls.  Dozens of other area wrestlers are also in Omaha, including 10 from Aquinas and nine from David City High.
