The state track and field meet opens in Omaha today. Several local athletes will compete in the Class A and B meets today and tomorrow, with area athletes participating in Classes C and D Friday and Saturday.
Columbus High is represented in the Class A meet by 18 athletes, eleven boys and seven girls. In Class B, the Lakeview boys are coming off a district title and have eight athletes participating in individual events and two relay teams. Four Vikings girls qualified for individual events as did one relay team. Scotus has six athletes in the Class B meet, as four girls and two boys are representing the Shamrocks.
