State Softball: Aquinas, Central City In, Twin River Out

Aquinas Catholic and Central City made the Class C state softball tourney, while Twin River fell in its district final on Saturday. 

The Monarchs won two straight home games over GACC, by scores of 10-9 and 23-12.  Aquinas is 22-6 and seeded fifth at state.  The Monarchs will open the tournament against Ashland-Greenwood on Wednesday. 

Also playing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday will be Central City, as the No. 2 seed facing Freeman.  Central City took Malcolm in two straight home games in the district finals, winning 6-0 and 17-2. 

Twin River fell to Freeman in two games on Saturday, losing by scores of 11-10 and 13-3.
