State Soccer: Shamrocks Girls Bow to Griffins

Scotus was defeated by top-seeded Gretna East 12-3 in the first round of the Class B girls state soccer tournament last night. 

Emma Brezenski scored all three goals for the Shamrocks.  In the process, the junior tied the Scotus single-season record of 43 goals, with 19 coming in just four postseason matches.  Brezenski extended her Scotus career scoring record to 83 goals in her first three seasons. 

The Shamrocks, who were riding a nine-match winning streak coming into the state tourney, finished 13-4.
