State Soccer: Discoverers Boys Downed, Shamrocks Girls Play Today

The Columbus High boys soccer team was downed by Lincoln Southwest 4-0 in the Class A state quarterfinals Tuesday night. 

The Discoverers saw their season end with a record of 9-8.  The unbeaten Silver Hawks scored all of their goals in the first half.  The No. 1 seed improved to 17-0 and advanced to Friday’s semifinals. 

In today’s action at Morrison Stadium in Omaha, the Scotus girls take on top-seeded Gretna East in the Class B quarterfinals.  Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. on KLIR 101.
