Humphrey St. Francis, St. Paul and North Bend Central will play in today’s semifinals of the girls state basketball tournament, while Clarkson/Leigh and BDS bowed out in yesterday’s quarterfinals. 

In the C1 semifinals, St. Paul meets top-seeded Lincoln Christian at 9 a.m. The number-4 seed Wildcats, making their first appearance in the tourney since 1993, edged Wahoo 41-38 yesterday.

Today’s game will be broadcast on 93.5 The Hawk, as will the C1 semifinal at 10:45 between North Bend Central and Adams Central.  The Tigers beat West Point-Beemer 48-33 in the opening round.

In D2, Humphrey St. Francis meets Mullen at 3:45 this afternoon on KZ-100. The Flyers defeated Sterling 60-53 last night.

Clarkson/Leigh’s season ended at 20-6 after a 41-36 loss to Oakland Craig in the C2 tournament. BDS finished at 18-6 after falling to Mullen 60-54 last night.
