Jack Payne, a sportscasting icon in Nebraska and the long-time voice of the College World Series, has died.  He passed away Thursday at 99 years old. 

Payne moved to Omaha in 1951, broadcasting at WOW radio before joining KFAB in 1970.  He was a member of the Nebraska football broadcast team for 22 years. 

Payne delighted fans at Rosenblatt Stadium as the CWS public address announcer for 37 years until retiring in 2000.
