Softball: Vikings Fall to Aquinas, CHS Beats Central

In prep softball Tuesday night, Lakeview fell to Aquinas by a score of 5-1. 

The Monarchs led 1-0 going into the top of the seventh, when they added four runs.  The Vikings averted a shutout by scoring once in their final at-bat.  Lakeview committed six errors in the game, so four of the five runs allowed by Vikings starter Cali Bentz were unearned.  She gave up just three hits, including one home run, but no walks, while racking up nine strikeouts. 

Lakeview’s seventh straight loss dropped its record to 4-10, while Aquinas is 9-10.

Meanwhile, Columbus beat Omaha Central 9-6 at Bradshaw Park.  The Discoverers will take a 6-13 mark into a doubleheader at Kearney Thursday night.
