Softball: Discoverers, Vikings Romp on Tuesday

In prep softball last night, Columbus High swept a doubleheader at Lincoln High.  The Discoverers cruised to a pair of 12-1 romps over the Links. 

In the opener, Columbus scored six runs in the top of the first.  And CHS iced the nightcap with a seven-run fourth inning.  The Discoverers will take a 4-6 record into a tournament in Norfolk on Saturday. 

Lakeview also rolled to a 13-2 victory at Central City.  The Vikings scored five runs in their first at-bat and finished the run-rule contest with five more in the fifth.  Calie Booth had three hits, finishing a home run shy of the cycle, drove in four runs and scored twice for Lakeview.  The Vikings are 4-2 and host Blue River tomorrow.
