Softball: Columbus Swept in Twinbill, Lakeview Whips Schuyler

In high school softball Tuesday, Columbus High dropped both ends of a home doubleheader against Lincoln Southwest. 

The Discoverers bowed to the Silver Hawks by scores of 14-0 and 12-2.  CHS is 0-4 on the season and is set to play at Omaha Westside tomorrow. 

Meanwhile, Lakeview broke out the bats last night in an 18-1 home victory in three innings over Schuyler.  Vikings catcher Julia Long was 3-for-3 with a double, four RBI and three runs.  Lakeview’s Abby Bird doubled and tripled, driving in three runs and scoring twice, and Sidney Spohn was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, three runs and a stolen base.

The Vikings improved to 2-3, while the Warriors fell to 0-3 on the season.  On Thursday, Lakeview visits Centennial while Schuyler hosts a triangular against Boone Central and Polk County.
