Columbus High’s softball team went 1-2 in the Heartland Athletic Conference tournament at Lincoln on Saturday. 

The Discoverers were edged in their first two games, falling 8-7 to Lincoln Northeast and 3-2 to Grand Island.  But the Discoverers ended on a winning note with an 11-3 victory over Lincoln High.  Columbus is 16-19 and will visit Grand Island for a doubleheader this evening. 

Meanwhile, Lakeview’s softball club opens its postseason today.  The number-2 seed Vikings will take on third-seeded York in a 5 p.m. game in the B-7 subdistrict tournament at Aurora.
