Smith Starts Slowly, Finishes Fast in California Tourney

Nebraska golfer Kate Smith took sixth individually and led the Huskers to a tie for seventh at the 15-team Bruin Wave Invitational in California yesterday. 

Playing in cool, rainy and windy conditions, Smith birdied her final three holes of the day to finish at 3-under on the front nine at The Saticoy Club. That came after she struggled to a 6-over score on the course’s back nine to start the day.
