Sjuts Pitches Gem; Lakeview in State Semifinals Tonight on KKOT

Jacob Sjuts tossed a complete game to help Lakeview to a 9-2 victory over Broken Bow and a spot in today’s semifinals of the Senior Legion Class B state tournament.
Sjuts, who lasted just 1.1 innings in Bank of the Valley’s opening round loss to Waverly, allowed two runs – one earned – in seven innings of yesterday’s elimination game. He allowed six hits, but no walks and had four strikeouts.
Adam Van Cleave and Eli Osten each drove in two runs for Bank of the Valley, which is 2-1 at Broken Bow and 23-2 on the season.
