Sims Misses Practice, Rhule Asked If He’s Still NU’s Starting QB

Nebraska quarterback Jeff Sims missed the Huskers practice Sunday night after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday’s loss at Colorado.

When coach Matt Rhule met with the media on Monday, he was asked if Sims – who has had turnover issues so far this season – is still NU’s starting QB  “I want to see him practice first,” Rhule said.  But, he added: “Jeff’s our starting quarterback, so if this hadn’t happened, he’d still be out there.  That being said, we can’t keep turning the ball over.”

The Huskers play their home opener against Northern Illinois on Saturday.  Kickoff is at 6 p.m.  The pregame starts at 2 on News Talk 900 KJSK and will be joined at 5:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.

It was also announced yesterday that Nebraska’s home game against Louisiana Tech next Saturday, September 23rd, has a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
