Nebraska interim football coach Mickey Joseph believes his time is now. That’s the headline of a Sports Illustrated article that came out yesterday.
While noting that the Huskers are just 2-3 since Joseph was named interim coach after Scott Frost was fired, the story says “Joseph is heralded by many in Lincoln as having already turned the program around.” In the article, Joseph candidly says of recruiting in the Frost era “they were taking kids and rushing the process.” The story also notes that Joseph introduced physicality in practice.
The article says the Huskers have shown marked improvement, but notes Nebraska needs to win three of its last four games to be eligible for a bowl. It says that’s what some believe Joseph needs to remove “interim” from his title.
