Shelley, Markowski Help Huskers Win Thriller, Weidner Hurt

Jaz Shelley scored 24 points, hitting two of Nebraska’s three 3-pointers in the third and final overtime, as the Huskers outlasted No. 20 Kansas 85-79 at Pinnacle Bank Arena last night. 

Alexis Markowski posted her sixth double-double of the year with 18 points and 10 rebounds to help NU improve to 10-3 on the season.  KU slipped to 10-1.  Nebraska lost starter Allison Weidner to a leg injury when she crashed into a court-side television camera early in the fourth quarter. 

The Jayhawks beat the Huskers on the boards, 68-46, tying the rebound record for a Nebraska opponent. 

The Huskers will host 19th-ranked Michigan next Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
