Several Huskers Lead U21 Volleyball Teams to Gold, Silver Medals

Nebraska volleyball standouts Andi Jackson and Bergen Reilly led the U.S. U21 National Team to the gold medal in the Continental Championship Sunday in Toronto.

Team USA swept Puerto Rico 25-12, 25-16, 25-16 to finish the tournament without dropping a set in five matches.  Jackson finished with nine kills, three blocks and one ace, and Reilly set the U.S. to a .464 hitting percentage.

In the other international competition, Husker seniors Merritt Beason, Lexi Rodriguez and Taylor Landfair took the silver medal at the Final Six.  The U.S. national team, comprising only college players, went toe-to-toe with the senior national team of tourney host Dominican Republic, which won in five sets.  Beason had a team-high 14 kills in the final, while Rodriguez had 10 digs.
