Several Discoverers Qualify For State Track Meet

The Columbus High boys finished sixth out of seven teams, while the CHS girls earned fifth out of six clubs competing at the A-1 district track meet yesterday.  Several Discoverers qualified for next week’s state meet with their performances at Pawnee Park Stadium. 

The boys qualifiers included Carsen Marking who took second in the pole vault, Santos Gonzalez who was district runner-up in discus, Caleb Mulder who won the 400 meter dash and the boys 4X100 relay team which was fourth. 

Girls who are going to state include Emma Brownlow after her second place in pole vault, Josie Garrett after taking second in the 100 meter hurdles, Joselyn Olson who was fourth in the 200 meter dash, Erin Smith who took third in the 300 meter hurdles and the girls 4×100 relay team after its third-place finish.
