Several CHS Athletes Qualify for State Track Meet

Several Columbus High track and field athletes qualified for the state tournament during yesterday’s A-1 district meet in Kearney.

Josie Garrett was the only Discoverer to earn a gold medal, winning the 100-meter hurdles.  Four other Columbus girls qualified for state in individual events and the 4×800-meter relay team also made it.  As a team, the girls finished seventh.

The Discoverers boys were fourth in the eight-team district field.  While no CHS boys were district champions, eleven are heading to the state meet.
