Seniors, Junior Blues Bats Silenced by G.I., Junior Reds Win Twice

The Columbus Cornerstone Seniors were held to one hit in a 3-0 loss to Grand Island last night. 

Connor Cameron singled for the Seniors’ only hit during Cornerstone’s Fan Appreciation Night at Legion Field.  Columbus slipped to 6-7 on the season. 

In the early game, the OneNebraska Junior Blues were downed by G.I. 13-1 in five innings.  Columbus averted a shutout in the fifth as Jack Holys completed a 3-for-3 night at the plate with an RBI single.  The Junior Blues fell to 5-4.  Both Columbus teams will play in a tournament at Sioux Falls beginning Friday. 

The Columbus Owens Wealth Advisors Junior Reds swept a doubleheader at Elkhorn North, winning by scores of  17-2 in four innings and 5-1.  They upped their record to 8-2 overall, 4-1 in league play.
