HUMPHREY- One person was transported to an area hospital after a collision between a semi and tractor on Highway 81.

On Tuesday at 8:12 a.m., the Platte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 81 near the intersection of 400th Street. The collision involved a semi with a tanker trailer and a tractor pulling a manure spreader. The investigation revealed that both vehicles were traveling northbound on highway 81 when the semi ran into the rear of the manure spreader attached to the tractor. The driver of the semi, 31-year-old Joshua Bartak, of Madison was transported to Columbus Community Hospital with minor injuries and was later released. The operator of the tractor, 33-year-old Spencer Eisenmenger, of Humphrey was not injured in the collision. Both northbound lanes of highway 81 remained closed for 5 hours while the scene and roadway were cleared of debris.

The accident remains under investigation.
