Season Ends for Columbus American Legion Baseball Teams

The postseason ended yesterday for two Columbus American Legion baseball teams and one area club. 

The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors lost to Fremont 3-0 in the semifinals of the A6 area tournament.  The Seniors went 2-2 in the tourney at Norfolk and finished the year with a 20-13 record.  In the A6 Junior tournament semifinals, the Columbus United Federal Credit Union Junior Blues fell to top-seeded Gretna 3-1. The Junior Blues also finished 2-2 in their area tourney at Fremont and wound up 15-18 on the season. 

And in the Class C Junior state tournament, Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley was edged by DCB 5-4 in the quarterfinals.  PWG was 1-2 in the Pender tourney and went 13-11 this summer.
