Sears, Christo Pitch Huskers to Win Over Purdue

Nebraska’s Brett Sears and Drew Christo combined on a two-hitter, leading the Huskers to a 6-2 victory over Purdue in the Big Ten tournament in Omaha last night.

Sears became the first NU pitcher since at least 1999 to post a 9-0 record.  He held the Boilermakers to two runs – one earned – on two hits with nine strikeouts in six innings.  Christo notched his first save of the season with three hitless frames.

Nebraska is now 35-20 and 1-1 in the tournament.  The Huskers will play Ohio State Friday at 2 p.m.  The pregame show will begin at 1:30 on News Talk 900 KJSK.
