Scouts Girls Top Lakeview, Shamrocks Boys’ Slide Extended

The Scotus girls basketball squad posted a 41-33 win at rival Lakeview Tuesday night. 

Kensey McKay hit back-to-back 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, helping the Shamrocks outscore the Vikings 13-5 in the final period.   Emma Brezenski had 10 points, going 5-for-6 at the free throw line in the final moments to lead Scotus, now 14-7.  Taylor Helms and Kenzie Greisen each had 10 points for Lakeview, which dropped to 8-12. 

The Vikings host Central City on Thursday.  The Shamrocks are off until they play in the C1-5 subdistrict next Tuesday.  

The Scotus boys suffered a 57-44 loss at Norfolk Catholic last night.  It was the Shamrocks’ ninth straight defeat, dropping their record to 6-13. 

Scotus next plays at Lakeview Saturday.  The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. tipoff and will be aired on KLIR.
