Scotus Volleyball Ousted From State, Two Matches on the Air Today
It was a short-lived return to the C1 state volleyball tournament for Scotus, as the No. 3 seed Shamrocks were downed by sixth-seeded Wahoo on Wednesday.
In their first appearance in the state tourney since 2018, the Shamrocks won the first set 25-21. The Warriors took the next three sets 25-21, 25-18, 25-21. Larkyn Mahoney led Scotus with eight kills and one block, while Adrianna Kush added seven kills and Mallory Dreesen had six kills and two aces. Meah Sackett had 27 set assists and Kayla Hoffman compiled 29 digs.
The Shamrocks wound up the season with a 28-7 record.
In today’s D2 quarterfinals, 4-seed Central Valley takes on No. 5 Amherst at 11 a.m. on KZ-100. And in a D1 opener, No. 7 Howells-Dodge faces second-seeded BDS at 1 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
