Scotus is Boys State Golf Runner-Up, Fleming Takes Fourth

The Scotus boys golf team finished second as a team in the Class C state tournament yesterday at Elks Country Club.

The Shamrocks had a team score of 323 in the tourney that was shortened to one day by bad weather.  Scotus was just one stroke behind team champion Kearney Catholic.  The Shamrocks won the tournament in 2022 and were also the runner-up in 2021.

In the Class A tourney at Norfolk Country Club, Owen Lawrence of Columbus High finished the two-day event at 28-over par to tie for 62nd.  The Discoverers’ Keaton Barnes was at 32-over, and tied for 72nd.  In Class B at Scottsbluff, Lakeview finished 11th in the team standings.  The Vikings were led by Grayson Vogt, who wound up 19-over par and tied for 18th.

Humphrey St. Francis earned fourth on the Class D team leaderboard in North Platte.  Andrew Kosch of the Flyers tied for 11th with a two-day total of 15-over.
