Scotus Hoops Splits Home Openers vs. GACC
The Scotus basketball teams split their home openers with GACC last night. The Shamrocks boys claimed a 52-45 victory, while the Scotus girls were edged 37-34.
Garrett Oakley scored a game-high 20 points in the boys’ win. Oakley went 7-for-8 at the free throw line in the fourth quarter to help the Shamrocks outscore the Bluejays 20-13 over the last eight-plus minutes. The win evened Scotus’ record at 1-1.
In the girls’ contest, GACC went on a 17-0 run in the third quarter. Emma Brezenski of Scotus scored a game-high 13 points, but the Shamrocks fell to 0-2.
Both Scotus clubs will be back in action at the Dowd Activity Center on Friday against GICC.
