Scotus Boys Hopes of Making State Fade in Second Half

It was a tale of two halves last night for the Scotus boys basketball team.

Needing to upset top-seeded Concordia in Omaha to make the state tournament, the Shamrocks led the Mustangs 16-15 at halftime.  But the Mustangs took a 27-18 lead by the end of the third quarter en route to a 45-25 win in the C1-1 district final.

The Rocks, who came into the contest riding a five-game winning streak – with three of the victories coming last week in a subdistrict tourney – wound up with an 11-14 record.
