Scotus Boys Fall in Opening Round of State Soccer

Scotus was knocked out of the Class B boys state soccer tournament today, as the Shamrocks were downed by Mt. Michael Benedictine 2-0.
The game was scoreless until the Knights scored their first goal at the 6:42 mark. The goal that iced it for the Elkhorn school came with 1:18 left to play. The loss ended a seven-match winning streak for Scotus, which finished with a 12-7 record.
In the girls state soccer tourney quarterfinals, Scotus meets Lincoln Lutheran/Raymond Central tomorrow night. It’s a 7 p.m. kickoff on KLIR 101.
