Scotus topped the team standings, while Shamrocks sophomore Cecilia Arndt was on top of the individual leaderboard after the opening day of the Class C girls state golf tournament. 

As a team, Scotus was at 81-over par, five strokes ahead of Broken Bow at Elks Country Club.  Arndt shot a 6-over-par, 78 to lead the two-day event by one stroke over Cozad’s Lynzi Becker. 

Meanwhile, Columbus High junior Sarah Lasso also carded an opening round 78 today in the Class A state tourney at Norfolk Country Club.  Lasso was tied for 11th place, eleven strokes behind first-round leader Nicole Kolbas of Lincoln Pius X. 

As a club, the Discoverers carded a 388 and were 12th out of a dozen schools competing for the team title.
