Scotus and David City Boys Golf Teams Make State Tourney
The Scotus boys golf team and Shamrocks senior Nick Fleming won district titles on Tuesday.
As a team, Scotus shot a 318 at Oakland Golf Club in the C-2 district tournament. The Shamrocks punched their ticket to state, as did runner-up David City, which finished 18 strokes behind Scotus. Fleming fired a 72 to win the tourney by five strokes.
In the C-4 district tourney at Indianhead Golf Course in Grand Island, St. Paul won the district title to make state as a team. Two Central City boys qualified for state. Ayden Zikmund shot a 75 to finish fifth and Brock Olivo’s 79 was good for eighth.
The Class C state tournament is set for next Tuesday and Wednesday at Elks Country Club.
