Scores From Saturday as Six City Soccer Teams Met

The prep soccer season opened on Saturday with the boys and girls teams from all three city schools facing each other in a triangular at Wilderness Park. 

In the first two matches of the day, the Scotus boys ran past Lakeview 10-0, while the Shamrocks girls beat the Vikings 4-0.  Both Columbus High clubs topped Lakeview.  The Discoverers boys won 11-0, while the girls posted a 6-0 victory. 

The day’s action wound up with the CHS boys defeating Scotus 6-0 and the Columbus girls got by the Shamrocks 2-1 in overtime.
