Schuyler Boys Score Early, Not Often, in State Tourney Loss
The Schuyler boys soccer team scored less than a minute into its Class B state tournament match against Bennington on Friday, but the Warriors wound up losing 2-1 in overtime.
The Badgers tied the match about five minutes after Schuyler drew first blood. Neither club would score again until Bennington was able to find the back of the net late in the first overtime. Schuyler could not come up with a tying goal in either overtime period.
The Warriors wound up with a 14-4 record on the season. Bennington remained unbeaten and moved into Saturday’s semifinals at 21-0.
